Our “Lucky #7″ was baptized yesterday, marking the end of an era for me. Over the past twenty-one years, I have anticipated the day when all of my children would enter in that watery gate. And now that day has come and gone.
It was sweet.
This morning, as I peruse the upheaval and clutter all around me at every angle, I long for those days when my children were each so very tiny and trusting. When our lazy days were spent on the floor with blocks, trains, and puzzle pieces instead of in cars, in front of computer screens, and too often in a hurry.
Young mothers, cherish these days. For they soon will be your fondest memories.
And, if well-spent, they will surely add glue to your future family relationships.
(I promise. :)
